The ideal “weight loss fridge’ is an article series dedicated to uncovering what SHOULD be in your fridge if you hope to lose weight in 2018. So much focus is placed on what you shouldn’t eat if you’re dieting, so let’s check out what you should.

Stock up on: Toffee

Wait… What?! TOFFEE?! Isn’t that BAD for people on diets? It’s a CANDY!

Well, yes. It IS bad for people on diet IF THEY EAT TOO MUCH.

You see, one Wilson’s toffee only weighs between 1 and 5 grams. That means you’re only getting about 8 calories from ONE toffee. That’s not a lot. But toffees (especially Wilson’s toffees, which are my favourite!) ARE really hard to eat, because they are hard, then they are chewy – so you have to work that jaw to actually eat them.

This means that two toffees will feel like you’ve really had a treat, but you’ve only had around 15 calories. And having a sweet treat every now-and-then is a great thing to do to stay sane while dieting.

One idea is to buy a packet of toffees, divide them into twos and wrap them up separately, so that you aren’t sticking your hand into a giant bag of sweets. You definitely need to regulate quantity, and not allow yourself the option to grab 7 or 8 at a time.

Having a go-to sweet treat that is controlled and satisfying is a great way to stick to your diet and weight loss plan. You can have one or two of these treats a week… so pick your days carefully!

Wilson’s toffees are the best treats I have found, apart from quality dark chocolate.
