Get tested

One of the things people often forget to think about when they are embarking on a diet and lifestyle plan is how ready and able their body is to deal with weight loss.

There are a number of factors which could prevent your body from letting go of excess weight as easily as it should, and you need to think through all of these, and get tested for a couple of things so you can give yourself the best opportunity to win the war on body fat.

The first thing to get tested is your thyroid gland. If your thyroid is failing to produce enough thyroid hormone, your weight will be creeping upwards, and you’ll struggle to get it down until you get some medication to sort this out.

Other issues need to think about are stress (if you’re not dealing with stress you’re going to be packing on the pounds), the quality and quantity of your sleep (if you sleep badly your weight will be an issue, as will losing weight), and your toxin levels (do you drink, drug, or take chronic medications? If so, you are in a toxic internal state).

All of the above issues can be tested and rectified. If you think you may suffer from one of, or all of, them, chat to your doctor or a health professional. Your diet will be far more successful for it, and your health will improve dramatically.
