If you want to burn more calories, try using a sauna. This could be one of the easiest weight loss strategies ever!

All you would need to do is to sit back and relax and let your body do the rest! But just how many more calories can a sauna help you burn, as compared to the number you burn whilst just sitting down?

According to, you can use the following equation to get an estimate of the number of calories that could be burned by using a sauna:

Calories burned = Number of calories burned in 30 minutes of sitting (specific to your bodyweight) x 1.5 (possibly x 2)

Consider this example:

A healthy male of 84 kilograms burns approximately 42 calories in 30 minutes of sitting. To calculate the number that this male burns while sitting in a sauna, simply multiply the number of calories by one and a half and then by two in order to get an estimate. In this case, the individual would burn between 63 to 84 calories.

So, why not reward yourself with a visit to a sauna when your weight loss programme is proving successful? Not only will it keep you motivated but you may reach your target weight much quicker than you thought!
