If you thought sugar free and low carb meant boring and tasteless, you haven’t tried NuMe baking products…

I avoid sugar where possible, and I’m also trying to cut the white carbs – like the flour found in baked goods. So it was with great delight that I received some test samples from Nutriseed’s NuMe baking range to try for myself. They’re gluten free too – so a great option for school lunches for the gluten intolerant.

Even more exciting is the fact that novice bakers like me can get these easy recipes right

A couple of simple (and healthy) ingredients are added to the mix, and after minutes in the oven, moist, dense, and delicious chocolate brownies were cooling on a tray.

All I had to add were three eggs, 125ml coconut oil and a splash of vanilla essence. No sifting and blending required!

The brownies were yummy (even my sugar-loving family pronounced them HIGHLY edible), and I can’t wait to try the rest of the mixes: 2-minute cake-in-a-cup is next on my list, and low-carb bread and bread rolls are going to be my Easter weekend projects when the family arrives.

Chocolate and pecan nut wheat and gluten-free muffins have been added to the range – and are going in the school lunch boxes next term.
