Do simple movements to burn more calories

Losing weight involves consuming a healthy diet as well as engaging in physical activities that will help you burn calories. Burning calories can be achieved in various ways from engaging in intense exercise routines to burning a smaller number of calories in many different ways on a regular basis. Here are some ideas on how you can burn a smaller number of calories on doing little tasks.

If you work in an office, offer to photocopy documents and deliver it to your colleagues when done. You could also do your filing whilst standing or perhaps have an informal meeting with a colleague whilst going for a walk. Remember that neatening up your office, moving furniture around or even helping someone else to do so – all involve physical activity that will help you to burn calories.

At home

There are endless numbers of ways to burn calories whilst at home. If you work from home, some of the abovementioned activities will apply to you too. In addition, other household tasks or chores such as sweeping or mopping the floors, washing the dishes, or even painting a room will all contribute to burning calories too!


If you love to work in the garden – go right ahead! Planting seeds, mowing the lawn, cleaning up the garden and even watering the plants are all examples of physical activities that will help you to burn more calories!
