Trevor Noah’s star keeps rising! The Daily Show host recently sat down for an interview with legendary talk show host Oprah Winfrey
The 33-year-old was one of several guests to appear on Oprah’s ‘Super Soul Conversations’ sessions held at the Apollo Theater in New York last week.
Trevor took to Instagram to share the exciting news.
“Look under your seat… It’s a dream come true!!! Oprah at the Apollo” airs Tuesday Feb 27 at 10pm on OWN,” he captioned a picture with the host.
Oprah interviews “the world’s top thinkers, teachers and luminaries” during her sessions.
Stephen Colbert, host of The Late Show, joined Trevor for the special recording. The pair touched on comedy, race, and Donald Trump, and Trevor also talked about his best-selling book, Born a Crime.
He talked about his poor upbringing in South Africa, revealing that his grandmother still lives in their old home
“We asked her if she wanted to have a bathroom inside and she said, ‘Why would I want to do that in the house?’” Trevor told Oprah.
The queen of talk also discussed the comedian’s success on The Daily Show.
“I don’t ever feel like I hit my stride… When I took over the seat from Jon Stewart, I had an idea of what I wanted the show to be. And I also realised that I am existing and the show is existing as an organism in a world that is constantly changing. And so I cannot give it a concrete definition… because the world around it is constantly changing how it feels. I want the show to be like water moving with the same force but along different paths,” Deadline quoted him as saying.
Oprah recorded two sessions at the Apollo Theatre. Other stars to make an appearance included Yara Shahidi, Salma Hayek Pinault and Jordan Peele.
A video version of the sessions, called Oprah at the Apollo, will air on February 27 in America on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).
The sessions will also be available on Oprah’s ‘Super Soul Conversations’ podcast.
