Buying plus-size gym gear can be daunting. Here are some ideas for how to feel comfortable and stylish while you work out:

If you want to hit the ground running, then Kerry has some tips to help you find the perfect attire

Quality over quantity

When working out, you are asking a lot of your clothes (no matter your size) so it is worth it to invest in quality clothes that will see you through many workouts rather than having to replace items every month or two.

Invest in your chest

This is probably the most important tip when shopping for plus-size workout wear. Women with a larger bust know the struggle of running in a bra that doesn’t offer the right support and if you plan on being active, then a well-fitting and supportive sports bra or two is a non-negotiable investment.

If you are struggling to find the right size, then go to a specialist bra store such as Liza Clifford who can do a fitting and find the perfect bra for you to run wild in.

There is still a gap in the market for plus-size activewear, but brands and retailers are catching up so don’t let the thought of having to try and find suitable workout attire put you off your health goals

Testing, testing

When trying on clothes in store, really put them to the test. Rather have a pair of tights split in the change room than at the gym.
