The first step:
Most people who really need to lose a lot of weight, in order to get healthier and avoid a host of horrible diseases related to being overweight, have a problem – they don’t feel like they CAN lose a lot of weight. They’ve given up. They have decided that they will be this way forever.
Thing is, this is not true, and it’s certainly not helpful.
So the first change that is needed is a change of mind, and the way to do this is to get inspired by people who have done it. Realise that they are the same as you. They are not superheroes. They were also in a very tough position, and they succeeded. You can too!
So fill your mind with these success stories and create the idea that you are going to join them
Remind yourself of this all the time. Don’t allow yourself to sabotage the process by being negative. If you do have a negative thought then correct it with a positive one. When you speak, make sure you are saying things about how you CAN, not how you can’t.
Tell some people you trust that you feel positive about your own abilities. Ask them to encourage you in your process. Put some positive images and quotes in places where you’ll see them regularly. Allow them to mould your mental attitude.
You CAN do it. You MUST do it. You WILL do it. But only if you BELIEVE you can.
