Teach a new skill and lose weight

If you are an expert in a certain skill and are great at teaching, then consider teaching this skill to others and lose weight at the same time – providing that the skill is one that involves physical activity of course!

Examples of skills

Swimming, surfing, building, painting, etc., are great examples of skills that involve physical activity and can help you burn hundreds of calories whilst teaching them.

Remember that you could also offer classes for people who want to engage in an activity. For example, many women may want to join a yoga or Pilates class to get in some exercise so giving classes can be a great way to help you to burn calories whilst teaching too.

The more people in your class, the better it can be, as it can create opportunities for more challenging activities to take place. For example, if you are teaching a sporting activity, you can participate in short races with your learners. Not only will this improve their skills but it will also get everybody to get the calories burning too.
