Exercise to strengthen your spine muscles
Try doing the following exercise to help you strengthen the spine muscles in your lower back. This exercise is great for helping you to maintain a good posture when standing.
You will require a yoga mat and a towel to perform this exercise.
Begin by lying on your stomach, on the yoga mat. Place a rolled towel underneath your forehead. Now, clasp your hands behind your waist and gently raise your head as well as your shoulders off the floor. Pinch your shoulder blades together whilst doing so.
Note that you should only raise your head and shoulders as far up as is comfortable. Hold this position for a second or two, before releasing.
Always stop if you experience any discomfort or pain and remember that the more fit you are, the more comfortable you will feel when exercising.
