Wigs and weaves are all the rage right now, but what about clip-ons? This week Lumka shows you how to rock a mean sleek clip-on ponytail.
Sleek and sexy, a ponytail is a great way to add length to your hair without the strain of putting on a weave or the expense of a lace wig.
Our favourites, Rihanna and Leigh Ann Pinnock love a good clip in: here’s how you can get their look.
Get your extensions right
Make sure you get the right extensions. Whether you’re getting a clip-on pony, bun or bangs, make sure the colour and texture of the extensions match your hair. Mismatched hair looks messy.
Get your hair straight and sleek
- Make sure you condition your hair before styling to minimise flyaways and frizz. Condition with Palmer’s repairing conditioner (R73,95, Clicks).
- Use a heat protecting mist before straightening your hair with a flat iron. Try Fantasia hair polisher heat protector straightening serum (R89,99 Clicks)
- Use an elastic band to tie your hair into a pony then slide the ponytail clip-on behind the elastic band and secure it in the bottom.
- Use Olive Oil edge tamer (R56,95, Clicks) to finish the look.
