Getting back into shape after pregnancy

Here are some things to bear in mind if you have just given birth and want to get back into shape.

Take it slow

Don’t be in a hurry to start exercising after you have given birth – doctors usually recommend waiting four to six weeks after giving birth so that your body will have some time to heal. Always ask your doctor first before jumping into an exercise routine.

Start small

When you do beginning exercising again, be sure to start with small and simple exercises. Do not strain yourself. Kegels and tummy tucks are two simple exercises that can be done.

If you do not know where to start or how to put a suitable workout routine together for yourself, seek the assistance of a physical trainer. There may be many available at your local gym
