Wearing blush is a great way to add a healthy glow to your skin. Follow these top tips to pull it off perfectly.
Look at your skin type first
Your skin type will determine the best type of blush to use. If you have dry skin or fine lines, avoid powdered blushes. Cream-based formulas are an excellent way to add a dewy look to your complexion. However, steer clear if you have oily skin.
Consider the best colour
For the most natural choice, pinch your cheeks – your ideal blusher is that colour. Lighter skin looks great with blushes in soft pink or peachy shades. Medium or olive skin tones work well with rose or coral hues. Darker skin tones look fantastic in burgundy, russet or plum shades.
Apply your blush perfectly
The correct place to apply your blush depends on your face shape. If you have a long face, apply blusher to the apples of your cheeks then sweep straight towards your ear to widen your face. However, if you have a round face apply blusher along your cheekbones in an upward motion for a slimming effect. For heart-shaped and oval faces, your best bet is to apply the apples of your cheeks and then sweep towards your temples.
