Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is hard at work preparing for the upcoming Miss Universe pageant, and we think the Western Cape beauty stands a good chance
Demi-Leigh announced her participation in the pageant this week, and has vowed to make SA proud.
It’s been 39 years since a South African wore the crown, but that could change on November 26, when the pageant takes place.
“I promise to dedicate and commit myself to ensure the crown will once again be on South African soil,” she said in a statement.
Here’s why we think she has what it takes to bring the title home
She has a winning coach
Pageant coach Werner Wessels is helping Demi-Leigh prepare for the Miss Universe crown. He is the man who was by her side when she won the Miss SA title. Werner has also worked with Rolene Strauss, who went on to win Miss World, and beauty queens from around the world. He has lots of experience, and uses a similar training method to the one used in countries like the US, Philippines, and Venezuela.
