Making sure you keep your clothes looking great should be a priority for us all. But sometimes we all lack some know-how. Try these key tips to keep your clothes in top condition.

Prevent runs in your stockings

Spray stockings with cheap hairspray to prevent runs or holes. You can also use this tip for tights too. If you stockings already have a run in them, paint with clear nail polish to prevent the run from expanding.

Removing stains keeps clothes looking as good as new

Firstly, blot don’t rub when you spill something on your clothes. Use white wine to remove red wine stains. Coat oil stains with baby powder and leave overnight. The oil stain should be gone by morning. However, if the stain is still visible repeat the step.

De-fuzz knits simply

Remove fluff from knitted items by rubbing a pumice stone over the garment in a circular motion. Go with the grain of the fabric for best results. You can also use a razor – but that definitely requires a careful hand.

Keep smells at bay

Remove musty or damp odours from your clothing by combining one part vodka with two parts water. Place the mixture in a spray bottle and spritz lightly over your clothing before airing.

Set the press

Don’t wear clothing immediately after ironing. This can cause more wrinkles to form. Rather wait for a few minutes to allow the press to set before donning.
