Tumi Morake will be hosting the 2017 South African Music Awards (SAMAs) next week, and we cannot wait to see the comedian in action

While Tumi is excited about the event, she is also worried about begging designers to dress her.

The Jacaranda FM DJ says she knows she works in a plastic industry, and has to look glam on the night.

“That’s the one thing I am not looking forward to, because now this is the time where I am like, ‘Oh my gosh, I must bang down on designers’ doors’ and be like, ‘Please dress me. I know I am double the size of your usual people, but please’,” she told the station.

But Tumi says she is excited about getting dressed up for her big night in the spotlight

“Every time I have been called to do the SAMAs it has been to do the untelevised night. It has always been that first night, which is a great night, but nobody gets to see you. I have always wanted to get a taste of the glitz and glam,” she said.

She says she is also looking forward to co-hosting the SAMAs with Somizi.

“Somizi is such a playful host, and the idea of hosting with a playful host is exciting… I can’t wait.”

The SAMAs take place on Saturday, May 27, at Sun City in the North West.
