Here are five ideas for taking some time out to nurture yourself this Women’s Day (and every day after that too!)…

It’s National Women’s Day on Thursday, and the month of August celebrates women; working women, mothers, daughters, and sisters. However, somehow most women underestimate their worth. As women, we are so set to routine that we forget to take time for ourselves. We are so worried about othersâ?? happiness that our own happiness levels suffer. We are obsessed with looking model perfect that we forget how beautiful we really are.

Being selfless has almost become a part of womenhood. We have perfected the art of nurturing and taking care of others and have forgotten what itâ??s like to BE taken care of. While there is nothing wrong with being able to carry the whole worldâ??s problems on our shoulders there comes a time when our shoulders need a massage. NOW is the time to spoil yourself.

Stop for a minute and laugh

You canâ??t laugh and be stressed at the same time. The reason for that is when you laugh, your brain releases feel-good endorphins. Thereâ??s nothing like a good laugh to break the intensity of a situation and give some much-needed perspective. Donâ??t take yourself and life too seriously.

Schedule ‘you’ time

Take time away from the hustle and bustle of life and do something you enjoy. If you donâ??t already have a hobby â?? experiment and find something that relaxes you and takes you to a peaceful state of mind. It can be anything from sewing to scrapbooking to watching a TV series, as long as you feel good while doing it.

Get physical

The thought of exercise doesnâ??t particularly excite all of us (if it does youâ??re lucky) but a healthy body does lead to a healthy mind. Thereâ??s no need to go all-out and follow a strict diet. Take one step at a time and remember that, even though it may be painful, you are investing in your health

Pamper yourself

Stop saying youâ??ll do it tomorrow because tomorrow never comes. Just book an appointment for a mani or pedi and enjoy your time off. 

Spoil yourself

Some of us do find ourselves in difficult financial situations, but we canâ??t deny that we secretly want a pair of shoes or an expensive perfume once in a while. Put some money aside every month and then spoil yourself once every few months.
