TIP: Practise discipline over motivation
One of the reasons that people have for giving up on dieting is that they don’t have the MOTIVATION to follow through.
Why?
Because the excitement of embarking on a process like losing weight dissipates very quickly.
Why?
Because although the habits you need to adopt to lose weight are relatively EASY, but doing them for a long time (read twelve months non-stop) is HARD. Hard things are not usually exciting to humans. Easy things are.
So what you need if you want to lose weight is not MOTIVATION, it’s DISCIPLINE
Discipline doesn’t care if you’re excited, it gets the job done because doing the job is what’s important
That’s what gets you through the days when you REALLY want to eat a whole chocolate cake for breakfast, or skip gym because you’re ‘tired’.

How do you get discipline?
You practise it. In fact, your diet is the perfect time to practise. Do the diet NO MATTER WHAT. No excuses, no complaints. This is discipline. And it works. Your whole life will get better if you learn this skill.
Motivation gets regrets, discipline gets results.
