A Cape Flats mom says her weekly family outing was ruined after she and her children were served “raw” chicken at the Grassy Park Nando’s branch …

According to Asha Allie, 32, from Steenberg, she and her three kids go to Nando’s on Thursday nights every week, but were extremely disappointed with the service and food they were served last week. She posted images of their meal to Facebook and Hello Peter to complain.

Allie said that her son noticed that the chicken was ‘raw and bloody’ when he carved into it. After sending it back to the kitchen, Allie says the same food was returned to them, “just covered in basting sauce”.

She said that the manager of the branch handled the situation badly, and wouldn’t offer the family a full refund for their R299 meal. They were offered R120 instead, to cover the cost of the chicken.

Nando’s has been contacted regarding the mom’s complaint, and the company said that the matter is being investigated. The company said it would respond once the investigation has been concluded.
