Tip: You need more of THIS than you think

Last week I talked about the idea that if you are struggling with losing weight, or if you are heavier than you want to be, it’s most likely because you are eating TOO MUCH FOOD.

There are a couple of other factors involved, but basically the problem is that we think we need a lot more food than we really do.

This week I want to flip that idea on its head, because if you need to lose weight there are probably a couple of things you are NOT getting enough of – so now you need MORE than you think you do.

You need more of this:

  1. The first thing you need more of is the one thing ALL diets agree on: VEGETABLES. Simply put, if you’re not eating between five and ten servings of veg (some fruit included) per day you’re going to struggle to get the nutrients and fibre your body needs to be healthy and thus to lose weight.
  2. Second on the list is WATER. You need to be well hydrated all the time. This means drinking more water than you want to, especially early in the day. Aim for a minimum of two litres per day. If you’re urinating once every hour you’re doing OK.
  3. The last thing you need more of is REST. Your body and mind need to relax in order to create the hormonal environment in which weight loss can take place. Stress is the enemy of weight loss progress. So make sure you get adequate time in the day to chill out. It’s difficult, but you have to find a way.
