Blush, salmon, flesh, sand, dusky rose, nude and barely-there neutrals are a steady staple with A-listers this season.
With Sarah-Jessica Parker, Blake Lively, Sienna Miller and the rest of the fashion brigade embracing the trend, the red carpet’s been a flurry of nude shoes, bags and dresses.
Everyoneâ??s favourite fashionista, Kate Moss, has the following tips for getting the look just right.
Add one pop of colour
It could be a magenta shoe, an electric blue belt, or even a swipe of bright red.
One bold element, like the sash on Guiliana Rancicâ??s Grammy ensemble (left), helps keep you from looking washed out. Alternatively, use the nude shade as an accent with just about any colour, a là Kim Kardashian (right). It looks fantastic with denim!
Add some texture to the mix
A nude dress which almost disappears on your body is a fashion fail. Avoid that fate by adding in materials of differing richness and thickness.
If the dress is floaty and chiffon, add a velvet or furry coat on top or a leather handbag, or you can even wrap yourself in a thick chunky knit or sequinned scarf.
Wear different shades of nude in the same look
We’ve seen it everywhere lately – on Angelina Jolie in Paris, on Jessica Biel in New York, and the runways of everyone from Narciso Rodriguez to BCBG.
Don’t stress too hard on the matching, just work within the same colour family then layer up pieces that all look nude against your skin.
