Last week Sunglass Hut SA invited myself and a bunch of fashion editors to join them at Kloof Street House to preview their hot new sunglasses collection and fill them in on this season's hottest sunglasses trends.
After getting a sneak peak at all their gorgeous new sunnies, I was treated to a delicious lunch that included a dish called Blades of Beef (R125); a mound of slow-braised meat that literally flaked into pieces with your fork on a bed of parsley risotto. If you plan on visiting the restaurant, know that this is a serious goodie.
Anyway, according to Sunglass Hut, these are some of the biggest sunglasses trends, both locally and internationally:
Military
You're in the army now... or maybe just in the front lines of fashion with military-style metal frames with brown and green gradiant or reflector lenses.

Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses (RB3025), R1 690.
Vintage
From round Jackie O's to the classic cat-eye shape, vintage-style sunnies are all you need to fit in at the soda shop.
DKNY cat-eye sunglasses (DY4084), R630.
Baroque
Anything with antique detailing or a whimsical element is still big, big news for fashionable modern romantics.

Dolce & Gabbana Sicilian Baroque sunglasses (DG4168), price to be announced.
Coloured mirror lenses
Who'd have guessed? Coloured reflector lenses are back and now the last word in laid back cool.Oakley Frogskins (OO9013), R1 190.
Seen anything you like? All the above sunnies are available at Sunglass Hut across the country. To find a store near you visit their SA website over here.

Author info: Leigh van den Berg
When she’s not whipping up posts for All4Women, Leigh writes for just about every mag on the shelf. Her real passion, however, is the awesomeness that is online media. That along with sparkly fuchsia lip gloss, sky high heels, stalking Ryk Neethling and camera angles that make her look thin. Still, despite her love of all things glam, she’s a bargain hunter at heart and adores finding the things she loves for less. Oh! And she’s got a beauty blog too.
